This time around, your favourite screening service is presenting a preview of the latest neon-drenched thriller from Nicolas Winding Refn, Her Private Hell. Watch the trailer below. The new film from the director – known for the critically-acclaimed Drive and The Neon Demon – follows a rising movie star named Elle, played by Sophie Thatcher, whose dystopian city has been engulfed by a mysterious mist. As she prepares to shoot a space opera with her ex-lover turned stepmother (it’s complicated) she crosses paths with an American GI, played by Charles Melton, who wanders the streets in a desperate search for his daughter. Meanwhile, a sinister figure known as the Leather Man stalks the city's shadows. Needless to say, if you’ve ever watched a Nicolas Winding Refn film before, things get bloody – but also bloody beautiful. And before the film, Nicolas Winding Refn will join us for a Q&A to discuss his new work. In case you didn’t know, Her Private Hell marks the iconic director’s return to the big screen after more than a decade, diving straight back into his signature brand of neo-noir mystery. Sound like your kind of thing? You’re in luck. Dazed x MUBI Cinema Club is bringing Her Private Hell to Hackney Picturehouse on September 10, with doors opening at 7pm. Tickets are now on sale, including a free drink and popcorn, and as usual half-price tickets are available for Dazed Club members (download the Dazed Club app for free here for iOS and here for Android).
