There are cultural icons, and then there is Karol G. On the third night of Coachella, when the dust and miles of walking usually have festivalgoers beat, I got to witness this firsthand when I saw the Colombian artist perform for thousands of elated fans, many of whom brought flags from their home countries for the occasion. As the first Latina artist to headline the festival, the musician not only made history that night, but proved her commitment to her community, with the entire 90-minute performance reading as a love letter to Latin American culture. Whether it’s through her music or her style, the artist has never strayed from authenticity. That’s also clear through her latest brand collaboration, a new campaign with Reebok that continues her partnership with the iconic sportswear label.

An evolution of Reebok’s “Born Classic. Worn for Life.” global creative platform, the new seasonal campaign titled "Born Classic. Worn Together.”, is a celebration of the communities and generations that have been brought together by Reebok Classics, the brand’s most recognisable shoe line. The campaign’s video, shot in Mexico City by Puerto Rican filmmaker Alfred Marroquín, captures people of all ages and backgrounds, showcasing not only the universality of the style, but also the fashion’s unique power of connectivity.  It’s also an unmistakably Karol G production – the rich visuals drew inspiration from the colour palette of the artist’s orange Tropicoqueta era, with the individuals spotlighted in the video all dancing to the track.
